“When we are tired, we are attacked by ideas we conquered long ago." - Friedrich Nietzsche. Long ago, Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery conquered false claims that the Book of Mormon was fiction or that it came through a stone in a hat. But these old claims have resurfaced in recent years. The Cultural Tapestry of Mesoamerica

Mark Alan Wright has written a nice survey of Mesoamerican culture titled:

The Cultural Tapestry of Mesoamerica

http://publications.maxwellinstitute.byu.edu/fullscreen/?pub=2891&index=1

As useful as this article is as an introduction to Mesoamerica, I don't know how it belongs in a periodical titled Journal of the Book of Mormon and Other Restoration Scripture.

One striking aspect of the article is the complete absence of anything resembling Book of Mormon culture, especially in architecture.

I suggest the Maxwell Institute repackage all their Mesoamerican material into a new journal titled Journal of Mesoamerican Culture so no one gets the idea that Mesoamerica has anything to do with LDS scriptures.
