long ago ideas

“When we are tired, we are attacked by ideas we conquered long ago." - Friedrich Nietzsche. Long ago, Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery conquered false claims that the Book of Mormon was fiction or that it came through a stone in a hat. But these old claims have resurfaced in recent years. To conquer them again, we have to return to what Joseph and Oliver taught.

Oliver was truthful except...

Our M2C intellectuals and revisionist Church historians rely on Oliver Cowdery for much of the information we have about early Church history.

But when they disagree with what he said because of their other agendas (mainly M2C and the stone-in-a-hat), they justify their disrespect by characterizing him as merely an ignorant speculator.

I put together a table to show how this works.

It's in the extra page, here:

I still get reports of contention about these issues. There's no point in contending about any of this.

Our M2C scholars are not going to change their minds; they have too many sunk costs.

Our M2C scholars are not going to stop censoring alternative ideas; they know M2C cannot hold up when people compare side-to-side.

Most of the followers and employees of the M2C scholars adopt the same approach.

Here's my guide to avoid contention:
